The cat has seen the argument here and there with plenty of things shouted out to spare. Some say digital is the way and others hard copies at their bay. Whether that be movie or book all are stuck at their nook.
Digital is the best,
It beats all the rest.
Nope, hard copy is the way,
Then I can always read or play.
With digital it may get lost.
Who cares about the cost.
Amazon or Apple may go down.
Or they may leave town.
Pffft if Amazon or Apple dies,
You'll probably end up eating flies.
For the world will have gone to shit.
So I don't buy that one bit.
I own the blu ray.
It is hear to stay.
It is all mine.
That is so divine.
Pfft once more.
You own nothing at your shore.
Well, you own the right to watch it.
But that is all with each hit.
Digital can't be gotten all in one place.
It makes it hard to embrace.
Where as movies can sit on the shelf.
Also can be given my santa's elf.
Well that is true.
Pain in the ass in view.
Having them in 3 separate spots,
Can sure suck lots.
My internet may go down.
That will make me frown.
It means I can't see what I want.
It will just sit and taunt.
Oh no!
Your internet went down for an hour or so.
Dial 911 at your sea.
It's the end of the world for thee.
There will always be a way,
For you to go and hit play.
Unless the world goes to shit.
Then you'd have no electricity anyway to play it.
I guess with books you wouldn't need electricity unless it was night. Which side are you on with the plight? I was hard copy for the longest while but what is that point now with so many a dial? Not like you need them taking up tons of space and if you need to watch something there is always a way to embrace. Unless your internet sucks worse than the cat's gas. Then you may want to stay physical like my actual little rhyming ass.
Experience spring, have a fling.

The Digital Way Or Hard Copy Still On Display?
ReplyDeleteNot a question any more for Digital is the way
Copies save space
Secured in place
Organized and retrieval easily every which way
Hank
Easily find and get to it
DeleteWith 1000s there is still no fit
Digital or hard copy - I guess it depends. Most of my music is digital. I-Tunes makes it so easy. When it comes to books I usually prefer a hard copy as there is something about turning the pages and holding a physical book. If, I am traveling I like to bring a hard copy of a book to read. The down side of portable electronic devices is the fact you have to keep them charged or you won't be viewing anything..haha..I've been known to forget to charge.
ReplyDeletehaha yeah, that can screw one over
DeletePlus they can be easily smashed by rover
The charge sure can suck
Plus drive electricity up by a buck
I like both. It is a pain to keep things charged up. I do like reading a real book.
ReplyDeleteThe real book is great
DeleteHas a much better trait
I still like to read a book. I don't buy them though; just use the library. I'll do if till libraries don't exist or I die. Whichever comes first.
ReplyDeletelol well the way it is going
DeleteIt may be the former showing
I use the Kindle, but if I love the author I buy the hard copy. For my own storage I use Dropbox and Carbonite, and yet I still panic when I can't get the damn computer to do as I want. Like this morning, I can't get my own blog to load. What's up with that crap. LOL Have a nice day, my ass! Time to chuck it all and play!
ReplyDeletelol chuck it all in the sea
DeleteThat is a fine way to be
But yeah, backing up needs to be done
I use hard drives under my sun
Still quite old school here. I still get an old fashioned newspaper. Love the feel of newsprint. And I tear out articles to mail ( yes with a stamp) to my dad. But I love digital for blog and Netflix
ReplyDeleteNetflix sure is a winner indeed
DeleteStamps? Wow, don't get much snail mail speed
If the grid is all dead
ReplyDeleteYou won't have a bed
There goes your food
And a readable mood
Done and screwed
DeleteNot the fun way
That's just rude
Any old day
you know it used to be
ReplyDeletei would lose my $h@t if i lost the net
at my sea, but no more -- i am free.
i see
you are still the master rhyme ringer
of the poetry singers.
i have a new cat,
and she love to chase mosquitos
and gnats...and ones she catches
get chewed up in her clutches.
well i will be around a bit,
occassionally - to see, before and after
i cross the sea.
I won't lose my shit
DeleteJust give a hiss and spit
Being free from it is grand
Staying ahead allows that in my land
And still rhyming away
Each and every day
That makes 2 kitties now?
Do together they meow?
lol protein they are
Keeping them away from you at your sand bar
Around you go
When? Don't know
I use the tablet a lot to read books
ReplyDeletemuch easier to obtain than to go to a library or store
didn't think I would like it as much as I do
but I found it wasn't that big of a chore
betty
Yeah, faster with ease of use too
DeleteDon't have to leave your zoo
With books, I prefer the hard physical copies.
ReplyDeleteHolding in hand
DeleteCan be grand
I have a lot of physical books but I'm mostly digital video now. Still a few blu-ray on my shelves but not that many. I do the ebook thing a lot. So easy to carry around.
ReplyDeleteYeah, much easier to carry around
DeleteLots of digital video here is found
for us, the ancient generation, digital is but confusion despite all the inclusion
ReplyDeletehaha bah, give it a go
DeleteWill get in the know
I do a lot of reading online, but don't own a Kindle or anything similar. I still like the feel of holding a book, but am open to other options.
ReplyDeleteCheaper at times too
DeleteTo online at ones zoo
Yes to spring! It's lovely. As to Apple and Amazon leaving town. I don't think so. Not in my lifetime anyway. Good to see you still rhyming after #atozChallenge month.
ReplyDeleteWill rhyme away
DeleteEach and every day
Yeah, they'll never leave in my life
Unless a nuke causes strife
I still love a hard copy book!
ReplyDeleteThere you go
DeleteRead away at your show
Honestly I just get whatever's cheaper. If it's an Indie author, usually the Kindle version is cheaper, so I'll get that and read it on my Kindle Fire. If it's a big popular mainstream book, publishers always charge something ridiculously stupid like $10-15 for an ebook, while simultaneously charging $7 for a mass market paperback, in which case I'd much rather have the hard copy. $15 for a book file? Uh yeah, strong pass.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the greedy sobs jack it up a ton
DeleteAnd then do a cheap mass market run
When it costs barely anything at all to put it online
Guess cheap and killing trees is fine
Both for me at my bay
ReplyDeleteLike music and photos on digital play
But books in my hands any old day
A little mix and match
DeleteWith your bay's batch
I haven't got an ebook but I do love to read ordinary books. Good post. Pat.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Glad it is grand
DeleteHere in my land

ReplyDeletelol those for long ago
DeleteThere at her show
I'm blue but there's no blueray to be found in my hall.
ReplyDeleteNot a one
DeleteFor Blu Ray fun
We have lots of digital books and we never lose them unlike the paper books that go missing!
ReplyDeleteThey seem to vanish each day
DeleteWith their physical display
I enjoy e-books as its super convenient and never have to be dusted, smiles ~ Hope you are well Pat ~
ReplyDeleteThat is true
DeleteNo dusting collecting at any zoo
I guess that's why I like having some of both.
ReplyDeleteA mix and match
DeleteIs a fine batch
a book is a winner,
ReplyDeleteeven when thinner
than any digital spinner
the touch, the texture, the smell
enjoying hard copy, it's swell!
There you go
DeleteFeel it high and low
In my older years, I am finding I hate clutter, so I appreciate digital a lot more than I used to!
ReplyDeleteThe older one gets at their sea
DeleteThe less clutter many wants to come to be
I just rent and stream
ReplyDeleteA good way
DeleteAt ones bay
I am known as retro girl
ReplyDeleteI love that stigma and often give it a whirl.
I still have a home phone
With no fancy ring tone.
I love, love my dvd's and my books in my library
I love to read an actual book and even own a dictionary.
I have my I pad and my blog
But that's as modern as I wish to log......here on my blog:)
lol well at least you got a bit
Deleteas the blog can modern in
Is it one of those spin phones?
That may get lots of groans
No spin phone.....actually plugged in
DeleteBut I do have one and wish to give it a spin:)
lol enjoy that
DeleteTakes forever where your at
I still like my paper, maybe the smell?
ReplyDeleteA little smell
DeleteCan be swell
Some things make me nervous being digital only.
ReplyDeleteAlways will be there
DeleteUnless aliens blow up our lair
Hard copy, so you can use it to defend yourself if you need to :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a good reason
DeleteIn any old season
I enjoy reading a physical book!
ReplyDeleteI have several of yours at my nook!
A computer or kindle just isn't the same.
Technology can be such a pain!
That it can be
DeleteAwesome of some of me
I have both at hand
ReplyDeleteNice to have a choice
Hate it when the net goes down
Then you'll hear mt voice!
I have had a Kobo sitting in its box, unopened, for several years. Sigh.
lol geez, may as well sell that
DeleteThe net going down is hated where we're at
Oops... "my" voice. :-)
DeleteI am glad for digital photos nowadays, as I have a ton of photos from long time back that I never look at but cannot throw away! As for digital books, I prefer the print variety!
ReplyDeleteYeah, can get it easier at ones sea
DeleteDigital sure is easier for we
A bookworm I will never be.
ReplyDeleteThat bug just didn't bite me!
You got the collector one
DeleteAs you collect a ton
