Around Here Lately...

Can you tell I am miffed? Pat hasn't let me post in forever. So I had to find other ways to set loose my energy until he took the hint. What? I do this anyway? No. Never. Who told you that? Aren't you just glad to see the cat? What? You already saw me this morning? I guess you are one of our 10K followers over at the other place, huh? Yeah. We hang out there more these days. But....but...it is still Pat's fault. Don't forget that. See? I'm still mouthy too. Now on with it at our zoo.

#1 Stay in Place

Does this count? Is it even a thing? Such a foreign word. I guess being an "essential" worker kinda defies that, huh? Would you look at those woodtick pants? At least if he gets lost in the woods he won't be hard to find. Yeah, 8-10 hours a day out and about leaves little time for him to do much computer wise. I'll give him that. But it is still his fault.

#2 Face Mask Nutballs

No picture as we don't want to dirty our feed. Have you seen any? The ones who claim it is their freedom not to wear them even when a store mandates it? Then they fuss when the store won't let them in. Guess what? If it is your freedom not to wear it, it is also the stores freedom not to let you in. Do you whine when they say shoes and shirt is mandatory? Don't like it. Shop elsewhere. By the time your whining is through you could have been in and out.

#3 Growing Mutts

They are growing and holding their pee longer and they are growing to be less annoying to me too. Look at that? We are all in the same spot. I like one more than the other though, so far, just fyi.

#4 Digging Down Deep

When Pat does have free time look what he does? He goes and digs a hole with the poop machines at the giant litterbox. How rude is that? At least he could have taken me with so I could use it and show them what it is truly for.

#5 Crummy Cancer

Looks like old Cassie girl may be on her last legs too. Crummy cancer it most likely is. But she has been back and forth to the vet. Still hanging in there though. I'll give Pat a pass for this one.

#6 Babysitting  Poop Machine Sitting

Would you believe he goes off and leaves me in charge of these two? If you do, you may want to get your head examined. What? Not subtle? Bah, when has the cat ever been subtle? But hey, if he wants to Poop Machine sit then they should be sitting, not lying down. I have to wake them up and make it official.

#7 Scam-a-thon

Do people have nothing better to do than sit at home and try to scam people even more now? Nope. Don't want your pills. Nope. Don't want your fortune. You think I'm hot? Why so are your fake pictures. Block!!! Click this link to see you? Click my furry ass. Block!!!!

#8 Tweet a Little Tweet

Why do people put so much stock in that crap? All it is these days is a "buy me buy me" or "let's fight over stupid shit" or "scam a lot" site. Is it even worth it to have anymore? Maybe with a few select followers but with what it has turned into, always was bad but seems worse now, seems like it has outpaced Farcebook for the cesspool award.

#9 My Little Rhyming Ass

As for me...I've been to the vet for a UTI, kidney stones, acid reflux, and an allergy attack. So maybe I wasn't around because of that? Pfffft nope. Still Pat's fault. All good here now though. Great Nanny even said that "that thing will never die." Can you believe she called me a thing? Me? The cute one there. No way do I hiss at her and swat her and puff my chest out when she runs away in fear. Nope. Not me. Never.

Sorry there isn't a ten just to bug a certain someone's ocd. And that is all from me. Anything strike a nerve? You all masked out? Got some flashy pants? Still enjoy Twitter? How are things around there lately? By there I mean here if it is there to here at your place. Don't get hung up on here or there and just go with it here and now. Blame the there on the singing bass and the here on my ever so snarky little rhyming ass.

Enjoy life, forget the strife.

  1. Very sorry Cassie isn't doing well. Sounds like too many trips to the vet for both of you.
Must be who I follow on Twitter - I've avoided most of that.
And Timmy, put that back in the sand. It's not a seashell...

    1. Yep. Failed social distancing thanks to trips to the vet. Good you avoided most of that crap.

      hahahaha they've done that.

  2. That's terrible Cassie might have cancer. We've gone through that three times with our cats. Cancer really does suck.

    No shirt-no shoe-no mask-no service - I have no problem with that.

    1. That it surely does.

Yeah, it is their right to say who they serve too, within reason, no racist a holes, so don't like it, pffft to them.

  7. Wow, you have a lot going on. I didn’t know you were an essential worker? Sorry about Cassie:(

I gave up Twitter long ago. The people without masks around here tend to be the stubborn ones who need it most (60yr old range).

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well essential is taken very loosely lol not technically needed, but they make it so. The older ones sure are stubborn indeed.

  8. I lost a kittie girl to cancer about thirty years ago. She was only 9. So I wish Miss Cassie the best. Orlin and Cassie would be horrified. I now have ten cats. I adopted a kitten I found prowling my compost pile. She had four kittens. What I surmise is her sister lives on my back deck and she brought her four kittens up about two weeks ago. So hopefully, I can get her spayed and her children spayed and neutered. And they can wile their lives away on my back porch. I got front yard cats and back yard cats.

    1. Damn, first to the dogs and now to the cats, yep, they'd be horrified haha but then they have co-mingled with 3 dogs and 16 cats at one point, so maybe not.

  9. Oh no! Poor Cassie! I am so sad for you and her, Pat. I love Cassie ~ She has brightened my day many times over the years. I know you will take good care of her. Thanks for sharing the darling photos of your nephews. They are cute and are lucky to have an uncle who takes them on deep digs. Building sand castles with moats are some of my favorite childhood memories. I bet they will remember these times with you. Is the other place Twitter? Watch out for ticks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She'll be taken care of until that day indeed. They may not remember that sand castle, but they will remember that when we left some other kids ran over and stole it hahaha they didn't let that go for the rest of their visit. Had 35 ticks on me so far this year. The other place is Instagram. The cat can post and get snarky a bit too with ease there. Pffft to Twitter, barely use that much these days.

      Delete
    2. I'm slow I know! 35 ticks? I saw a picture of a tick's nest that one of my Bluenoser friends shared. Ugh! I'll have to follow you on Instagram. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. Please give Cassie a hug for me!

      Delete
    3. Up to 49 ticks on me now. I saw you on instagram a while back I think. Didn't seem like you used it much. Cass will get more attention indeed.

  10. The second I saw numbers, I knew it was an evil trick and that I shouldn’t have kept going!!! I expected 11 which is bad enough, but 9?? Who stops at 9?!?! We will put more good vibes out there for Cassie Cat and hope for comfort and healing. I still don’t understand the wood tick pants. I think it’s just an excuse for you to wear neon green pants! We will have to talk to Pat about letting you post some more. Not that he listens to me much, but I’ll try. :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. haha soooo evil. 9 had to be the way. If I did 10 it might involve vacuuming. Of course I wouldn't expect someone who vacuums her yard to understand woodtick pants. Yeah, Pat tends to ignore people. Better off letting me scratch him to let me post lol

      Delete
    2. I have no shame!! The birdies make a mess in the lawn, and I vacuum it on up. We don't deal with messes inside or out over here. :) Put me in a murder shack and I'll have it looking like a cottage before bedtime!

    3. hahaha okay, I'll take that as a bet. I know a few murder shacks that not even you could fix that fast.

  11. Oh so sorry to hear about Cassie. Hate the word cancer. Wow long hours you are working, not fun!! Glad the pups are actually maturing a bit. Vet visits are never fun! At least the poopers are having a bit of fun!

  15. I'm so sorry about Cassie and about The Cat's health issues, but hope both are up and well soon. Big hopes for Cassie. Hope this isn't the start of her rainbow bridge.

The older folks here in my neck of the not-quite-woods are the most terrified, and they hardly go out. When they do, they are wearing masks, and I can tell they are still terrified.

I personally hate wearing masks, and I seriously doubt they do that much good, but I wear them when I must go out because it makes others more comfortable. I honestly don't know how medical personnel have done it all this time. I honestly could not do it. I see lots of younger people sans mask, and although I'm sad they can't suck it up and sacrifice for just that short amount of time, I try not to judge anyone for wearing or not wearing.

I've been wondering how you are doing because you've been missing. Wondered if you ever got a new computer and how it's working for you. Not liking my husband's accessible computer too much at all. But he's learning to do some computer tasks again, so I can't complain. He gets to do a couple of different therapies via telehealth, and that's kind of nice, once I get him going, because I don't have to go out. Who'd have ever thought I'd become such a homebody?!?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The cat is back to normal, thankfully, old Cass is still hanging in there so far.

Better to be too paranoid than not enough these days. I literally can't wear them, so if it says wear a mask, I leave. I'd never be able to be a medical professional if they had to wear that. But I respect the fact that businesses demand it, which many don't and bitch about it. I wouldn't judge the mask thing, if they'd shut up about it and obey the rules set in place by said store or wherever.

Got a new one a little while back, so far so good. At least he is learning and able to use it again, main thing right there. haha a homebody can be a fine way to be sometimes.

  16. Sorry to hear about Cassie :( My girl boxer is showing signs of spine paralysis. Dragging her back legs. No cure and they say they pass anywhere from 6 months to 3 years after showing signs. If she's still here at Christmas, I'll be surprised. I'm going to look into one of those wheelchair things for her in the meantime.

I'd say about 75% of people aren't wearing masks here anymore. Of course, we're spiking in cases again.

Twitter never was my thing. I just use it to promote blog posts. I never read it LOL

    1. That is awful indeed. One of my grandmother's cats just had its back go and had to be put down. Wheelchair thing may help her be more comfotable.

    2. Sorry about your grandma's cat :( It sucks to lose a pet.

Hopefully we aren't sending the virus your way. Keep us idiot Americans out and you might have a chance of beating the virus.

  18. I hope Cassie is not in a lot of pain. So sad when our animal friends become ill. Let's hope for
    a positive outcome. sigh...

Masks are mandatory around here and if you don't wear one someone will tell you to get out. Really, it's not too much to ask to wear a mask in the store. You can take it off as soon as you exit. There still is no cure or vaccine so I am being cautious.

  23. Essential worker, Covid front line! So the rich can stay protected, not even the TV heads have come out of hiding, while most of the poor and uninsured have. Grocery stores aren't hurting for cash, but the cost of food is sky high, and it took the one my husband works for until this month to install safety measures, but hey, you don't want to wear a mask, go for it! Sorry, didn't mean to get on a soap box.

    1. Yep. All a cash grab where they can. Always been that way with rich assholes grabbing what they can where they can while damning the rest.

  24. I am finally here and am sorry to hear everything you are going through. Poor Cassie but she is in the best hands with you. You need to take care of you most of all. You are a front line worker so you are dealing with all kinds of people from the ones who behave to the others who don’t and are vocal about it. I wear my mask even though I have a tough time to breathe in it but I don’t have to wear it 7 hours a day. I’m Glad the doggies are better behaved if not the poopies, but I know they love you and the same for you.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm not dealing with as many as some, but I am dealing with more than others. Cassie is doing as well as can be expected and taking care of all is the way to be. A mask for 7 hours would kill me. Glad I don't have to do that.

      Delete
  25. I'm so sorry to hear about Cassie. Cancer stinks. That's sad for you and for her. :(

We have to wear masks when we go back to work. So do the kids. Should prove interesting. I wish we could just teach online. Though I miss some things doing that too (you really can't tell who is struggling and you can't reach them on a personal teaching level if you do). Technology takes away personal connection for sure (the con). It also makes discipline much easier (the pro).

I have been enjoying your Instagram feed!! I use Twitter for blog promos but I like Insta better.

    1. Stinks indeed.

I thought you quit teaching? Should prove interesting with masks all around indeed. Yeah, the personal connection goes with it, unless you turn it into blogging lol

      Insta I like better too.

    2. I did. My resignation went to the board and was approved. Then when the virus hit, and I was out of state for I did not know how long (taking care of mom), I panicked and begged for my job back. I was scared I would not be able to find another. So... now I'm grateful to be a teacher instead of annoyed with my job. 😂
